A great smile is a very important part of you, not only for aesthetic reasons, but most importantly, for dental health.
Regardless of your age, Orthodontic treatment will always improve your present condition, since tooth movement works in the same way for adults or children.
At Dr. Doumit’s practice we’ll perform a careful evaluation to determine what treatment, if needed, will work best for you.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that the initial evaluation should occur at the first sign of orthodontic problems or no later than age 7.
Starting a treatment early will produce optimal results and significantly reduce the amount of time and expense.
Usually, at age 7, the first adult molars emerge, defining the back bite. This is when your orthodontist can examine and evaluate tooth alignment and diagnose possible problems.
It is important to get evaluated in a timely manner, and if necessary, treatment.
Remember, early detection and proper care prevents problems.

METAL BRACKETS
Metal Brackets are the most common type. They are made of high grade stainless steel.
Nowadays, metal brackets are smaller, more comfortable and attractive.
CERAMIC BRACKETS
Ceramic brackets are made of composite materials. They are very strong and generally do not stain. Adults like to choose ceramic because they "blend in" with the teeth and are less noticeable than metal. These are the type of brackets actor Tom Cruise had.
